really weird the way this has been edited in terms of the order of the sections/topics of the book. an abbreviated semi-comprehensive history of how the Congo has been exploited since the early days of slavery placed midway through the book feels unwise, particularly given we’ve already been briefed on some of these events in previous chapters.

there’s also a weird reverence to the US that’s quite strange

an Israeli American found to be part of a corrupt and exploitative colonial system that supports modern day slavery and commits human rights abuses? nobody is fucking surprised.
