this would be so much better if the tone of the book matched the content. but the writing style is so juvenile

the content of this book is so adult and dark, but the tone and writing of the perspective is so immature in places that it’s super jarring.

it makes it really hard to stay focused on the narrative

WHY write half the book in first person pov just to switch to third person for the mmc’s perspective?? just write in third the whole time, omfg

i can’t prove it but this is sjm’s fault, i just know it

the potential is so peak but the pov is so limiting. the levels of unreliable narrator we could be hitting right now… sigh
