The first part of this book describes the key functionality of transistors and basically how they work. It then goes on to describe how in the late 1950’s engineers at Fairchild Semiconductors in Silicon Valley and TI in Texas so-called them up by etching multiple transistors onto a single chip instead of wiring them together.
