First update on Auggie's Book: It's tentatively called Safe Harbor and I love it. I'm like obsessed with Auggie and Haven. Goal is April 2022 publication.

First drafts are hardest for me. Editing is always fun because I get to add the spice!

Vander is officially launched and live! I did it! This is my 13th book and I'm so proud of it! It's epic!

I'm working hard every day on Vander's cover. Talented people very kindly helping me. We should have something soon and then Vander will be ready for the world.

Doing some final proofing of Vander and discovered I have reused two names from Men of Siege, so I have to replace them. The same names appeal to me over and over.

From Vander:
I'd never admit it to another soul, but giving her a puppy would satisfy old wounds in me and hopefully in her too. The shattered remnants of the boy I used to be wanted to soothe her tears and take away her nightmares.

Vander's 3rd draft is DONE! He clocks in at 62.4K and it's really good! Can't put it down. Working on the cover next.

Tonight's writing sample from Helix (yes, I'm finally writing his story):

Uh, I think I was screaming. Uh, oops.

I'm in brainstorming mode trying to decide on a short story that may eventually become a prequel or freebie for the new series. I've already been through Dallas and his brother Keegan and trashed both those ideas, so I'm back where I started with Helix, which I probably should've stuck with from the beginning.

I finished Vander's second draft today! So excited to get it ready for production.

I realized now that I'd been holding back with her before. This time, I could finally selfishly take from her, plunder her, own her. I still needed to hear her say it. "I want to smash into you, push you, break you." I growled the words through gritted teeth and a clenched jaw.
She nodded impatiently. "Yes. Everything you've got. All of you. Give it to me. Hard and fast."

Vander just gave it to her "on the rocks." It was cold and totally hot.
"Sounds fantastic. I wish I were that lucky woman."
"You can be. Just open your legs."
She paused and looked into my eyes. I nodded, encouraging her to play along. "C'mon, baby. Spread your legs for me."
She did as I asked. Her thighs and calves pulled taut and she looked fucking delectable.
"Wider. Till your skirt is up."

I sat down and he slammed the door, stalked around the front to his side, got in, and sat silently without starting the engine.
"You were listening?" I asked him.
He chewed his lip and stared out the windshield. "I heard everything."
"Including the part about…"
"Loving me? Yeah." He pressed the button on the steering column and the car rumbled to life.

"Why are you doing this? I didn't contact you to have you stand in judgment of my life. I wanted to fuck," I spat it in his face, "in a hotel room and leave." I made an X with my hands and chopped away the invisible strings tying me to this man and the tormenting words he was shoving in my face. "That's it. You run a fucking escort service. You don't get this concept?"

I finished and picked up a small handbag. His eyes went to it. He probably knew I had a weapon in there. Once again, he shocked me by nodding and allowing me to take it. With any other man, a disguise and a gun in my bag would raise huge red flags. With Vander, it was standard operating procedure.
