I'm taken out of the story a bit by how quickly - and stupidly! - she's buying into his story! Her entire family has just been slaughtered and she's leaning into him while running his lips up the side of her neck?!</spoiler>

...and I'm glad I did!

Wanted/needed to re-read #3 to refresh my memory.

The constant inner rumination of "I'm his killer", "I'm here to assassinate him", "I'm working on setting up his murder", etc etc etc is annoying.

Doing a re-read as I see a new one came out in Dec

Had to look up Gordon Bennett, of course!

Ugh....I hate "babe", "sweetie", and "baby". Especially when they jump into sex so quickly. It's as though the person can't be bothered to remember your name.

Not a whole lot of sleuthing yet...

I was in Edinburgh in late May early Jun.....so it's fun to be able to picture what they're seeing.

I re-read the first two over the weekend and noticed how, in #2, Dan seems to be a more intuitive detective than Gary is (should be). It's continuing in #3 and is kinda jarring.

They ate Culver's food again! Pretty much the only fast food I can stand....and the hot fudge malts are amazing!

Seriously? I hope it gets better, cuz so far it's reading like a Harlequin. Owen the hesitant and awkward manly man (he caught Calvin when Calvin fainted) and Calvin the weaker damsel.

Are Jacob and Mitch from another series?

Had to look up Maymont; it IS gorgeous!

Larkin really, really isn't a very likable MC.

Not able to get into the story....at least not today. Significant characters tossed in with no background. DNF for now.

I really like Leon in this series....he's funny.

This guy is leading an intergalactic mission and has cried a bunch already??!!!

Whoa.....did not see coming!

I just don't know how I feel about Julian and Eli.

I hope the recipe for the Blue Iceberg drink is real! It sounds great!

I'm going to be soooo bummed when I'm done reading this! When does #6 come out?!
