I'm enjoying this immensely. It has many of the tropes I love, mixed with an unusual heroine. Making me realize how much I've missed historical romance. Not just any historical, but the ones with the fancy balls and estates. It also has a despicable bad guy or two. New-to-me author but I'm impressed.

As always, I'm enjoying RaeAnne's style of storytelling. I'm especially fond of the way she's slowly revealing the sisters' traumatic past. This book has the author's signature small-town feel.

This is an absorbing book. The first book I've read containing faith elements that not only feel real but are a solid part of the plot. Highly recommend this one to those who love pioneer and native american stories.

Reading this for our book club and I'm really enjoying it. I love that it incorporates the language of flowers into the plot. Overall, it's exactly the type of book I enjoy with lots of unanswered questions leading the way. The dual timeline is also well done. It makes me come back for more daily, even when I don't have time.

Too many adjectives weigh down the narrative of this memoir adventure. BUT, I do love a hiking/camping memoir so I'm willing to overlook how it slows me down. Sometimes, I have to read a section more than once because I've become lost in the narrative. Still willing to give it a fair shake, I'm reading on...

I love a Native American story. Mary is resourceful and trusts her future, even though she doesn't understand it. Her husband seems good for her. I like that this story starts when Mary is a young girl. Her hardships are easy to empathize with. A couple of my book club members have finished and are glad I chose this book. Yay! Some early American story converts!

I chose this book as my pick for our book club. Even though I have the audible, I couldn't resist starting a large print from the library. Great beginning. I can't wait to read this fictional adaptation of real Crow history. The large print is so easy to read. I now realize my eyes are half of my slow reading problem.

We're almost done with this book as a group read/discussion in our bible study class. It has generated some great discussion current with today's issues and how to resolve them.

We've had some lively study and discussions directed by the thoughts in this book. This week it was the effects of social media and next week it will be politics. I'm quite proud of our group's ability to handle sensitive topics with decernment. Our faith has grown as well as our friendships.

This book is like layers of an onion. I feel like I'm peeling away layers of a mystery, as well as a family's history. I get lost myself. Reading this in bits, I often forget who is who as timelines change, but I still find the story and writing prowess fascinating. A literature lovers dream.

As usual, this book pulled me right in. Kristin Hannah has a gift of making me care about her characters from the beginning, pulling me into their lives so hard that I can't stop reading. Thanks for making me fall in love with reading again.

I enjoy this book more with each page turned. The dialog is sometimes hard to follow, but it brings the characters alive like nothing else. The dance scenes are brilliant. I can hear all the stomping and feel the motion as it's described. I'm glad to have discovered this new-to-me author.

We've been working on this study once a week for months in a small group. We have learned so much about the bible and Jesus during our time together. If you do this study, be sure to go to each chapter and verse, plus use a study bible to draw out more conversation. Wonderful experience.

I've been reading this off and on for a week in my spare moments. Really good thriller with two female leads who are in law enforcement. That alone should make you read it if you love brave women in tough jobs. Some good banter between two LEOs who have never worked together before.

This one is making me want to read faster.

This has been an interesting journey. I think I understand Paul and the people he was talking to in his letters, more now than ever. It helps that we're going through the same scriptures in a bible study I'm facilitating based on Hope in Times of Fear by Timothy Keller. We're on chapter 10, Revelation, this week in this book, which will be very interesting.

The lead character is very strange. The humor is lost on me most of the time. If this wasn't my book club's pick, I wouldn't finish it. Maybe it hasn't stood the test of time, even though many parts of it could be present day. More after I finish and we discuss it.

Our Pastor has been using this book to inspire her sermons, then we gather weekly in small groups to discuss it. The book itself is a bit too scholarly for me to absorb easily by myself. But, the sermons and group discussions have added to my enjoyment of it. This week we're discussing the letters by Paul, the reason they were written, and what they mean to us today.

I always enjoy Amy Harmon and this book holds my attention well. It's my nighttime read when I awake and need something to settle my mind, so I'm going a bit slow while reading a print book at the same time. No fault of the book or author, just my crazy methodology.

I've been reading this off and on for a week. It's clever, but I haven't figured out why all the hype, yet. Don't get me wrong. The writing is exquisite. Very little to complain about, but it hasn't held my attention the way a 5-star would. Maybe I'll feel more absorbed the 2nd half. This book was chosen by my book club to read and discuss.
