Lark is an extremely poetic character. Her internal monologue, descriptions, and dialogue are gorgeous. But sometimes this leaks into other characters where, based on their characterization, it doesn't make too much sense.

The love story is FIRE though. It's a slooooow slow burn, but in the best possible way.

This book is so good so far!! WHAT IS GOING ON?

It kind of seems like the author came up with a hundred ways to explain the impact of the Goode magical tulips on everyone and couldn’t pick one, so she feels the need to spend half of every chapter delivering the same information. It’s getting a bit annoying. I’d like to see the story progress. Writing itself is beautiful though.

Not sure about this one. I am very bored. 11 chapters in and nothing is happening.

I am starting to see increasingly that this author “borrowed” a lot from George R.R. Martin. As an ASOIF super fan, I’m not sure how to feel about it. I love this book but that bothers me.
