Not a new book but actually #21. And it's good, interesting, clever. Not as psycho as the latest ones where he just goes around and kills everyone. Enjoying it so far.

More like a travel blog through 3rd world countries...

God it's good! Finally found an excellent Sci-fi author.

Second book by Scalzi after the Moon book. And same 'problem', a good setting does not necessarily make a good story. There is a kind-of story here but I don't know how if could end. So it is more a never-ending storyline.
Still fun to read though, the idea is great.

Annoying, boring and does not make a point. Someone tries to beat Stephen King in long descriptions for the sake of long descriptions. Now the killing starts and maybe it gets better but I don't have high hopes. I'll try to get to 25%

Good until 20% in. Interesting, something else entirely. Then it loses focus, from 50% onwards I just skim the pages for something interesting and readable. I'll finish, estimate a 2 star rating.

Ok, part 2 is more matching the promises of the title. The rape story is truly disgusting but has a happy end. Kind of. Authors note highly appreciated

Ugly Stories - No, not really. They are good.
About Terrible People - also no. So far all quite reasonable
Doing Terrible Things - yeah... No! I expected some torture stuff (thoughts of stories from Jack Kilburn or Blake Crouch come to mind). No gore, nothing that keeps you awake at night, nothing out of the ordinary...

What is ugly is the formatting on Kobo, ToC is wrong :(

So far boring as hell. Daisy Jones and Malibu got me hooked after about 10%, here I'm 23% in and it is a nice story but dull. Feels like re-reading The Dream Merchant...

I always tell my people to stay away from benzos and heroin. People don't die staying up, they die when they go to sleep. Look at Jenis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison. Downers kill you.

The book is really really catchy, love it.
