Chapter 1 satirizes political leaders by using Mr. Jones. Mr. Jones is a greedy man, taking almost all of the money for himself, leaving little for the farm animal’s food. This is a satire on corrupt political leaders who take money from the government.

One minor character of Ready Player One is Wade’s neighbor, Ms. Gilmore. She is a wonderful, innocent person, always nice to Wade. When Wade’s apartment/house thing blows up, she dies, and becomes a form of motivation for Wade to work even harder to defeat IOI. She represents how the actions of IOI cause the deaths of many innocent people.

One archetypal symbol of the Maze Runner is, (of course), the maze. It represents the great uncertainty of what’s going on outside the glade. The size represents that this great uncertainty is humongous and no one understands it.

The tone of the maze runner is ominous and violent. The creatures inside seem very attack crazed, and the whole maze is just a mystery. The whole situation is hopeless and grim, with everyone getting more depressed the longer they’re there.

Christopher’s traits change from the beginning to the end. He starts out happy and loyal, being an innocent person which sets up his actions and struggles. As the book progresses, he becomes scarred by the murder of his master. He becomes tough, but is still inexperienced and uninformed, so his struggles keep growing. This causes the book to be full of mystery with you always wondering what’s next.

One thing the author makes you curious about is apothecaries. They tell you some things, but only basics. They are like alchemists, but for medicine. The author probably does this so we can learn some background information about the setting of the story.

The one thing the author makes you curious about isn’t one thing, but rather a whole string of mysteries surrounding a mysterious cult and a secret key. The main thing is the Blackthorn Key, which is an unfounded key to an unfound door(or something else). The author makes all these mysteries to make the story full of suspense and surprises around every corner.

The inciting incident was when the murderer starts killing apothecaries and people that Christopher’s master Benedict Blackthorn knew, as now the story is progressing with Blackthorn getting injured/burned and the murderer drawing closer...

This book follows multiple story archetypes. It follows the quest, Magnus must go on a journey through the 7 realms and Valhalla to get the Sword of Summer. They need it to stop Ragnorok from happening and destroying the realms. For rebirth, Magnus is unsympathetic at the beginning and treats everyone poorly. Near the end, he sees how important friends are and how he shouldn’t hide from others.

I can connect this to my own life, as I am also a teenager who has a mediocre life.(Although Chase’s life gets much worse.) I can connect this to stories like Avengers Age of Ultron, as the main character first meets his new mortal enemy, and gets beat up and loses.

Philip Lombard is a trickster, always grinning at the darkest of times, never really seeming to care about what’s going on around him. If there has to be a protagonist, it would be Justice Wargrave, who took control of the situation and calmly evaluates what’s going on, seeming to help greatly with the solution.

This book is a plot driven story, started by the nine invitations to the island, where Tony Marston is poisoned and dies, which causes everyone to freak out, and then everything starts to spiral out of control, as everyone starts to blame everyone else.

Randall Munroe mentions his old job at NASA at the beginning of the book, which seems random at the time, until he answers the question about a mole of moles (A mole is a certain humongous number). This question tackles if a mole of moles suddenly appeared in space, which ends horribly, of course.

This reminds me of Randall’s other book, xkcd: volume 0, which was a simplified version of this, full of comics from his web series of the same name, xkcd. This also reminds me of a channel I used to watch where they actually did crazy experiments like flamethrower gloves and gun jetpacks.

The characterization of Randall Munroe is indirect and subtle. From reading him talk about and answering these questions, you learn that he is curious and bright. He is very interested in science and unique and confusing ideas that people ask him, such as “Could you use machine guns as a jet pack with enough power?” and other absurd questions.

The setting of this book is in a quaint little town in England. It mainly happens in the town graveyard, throughout the period of Bod, the main character’s life, during the course of 40 or so years, starting in the 1980s or 90s. One specific scene was the dance of the macabray, (not macabre), during the wintertime, in the Old Town.

The audience for this book is young adults and adults, as it is about the very heavy topic of WWII. The language they use varies from simple to complex, as they not only use the English language, but also Hebrew and French. The main characters are middle age at the time, which lets other middle age adults relate to these characters and feel their pain.

Vladek got sent to Auschwitz in 1944, which is in Poland, because he was Jewish, by getting captured by Germans.

The conflict of the book is character versus society. This is because Vladek S. has to go through the rules of Hitler and the Germans and live throughout it all while keeping his family together.

The Dark Lord, known as Dirk by everyone else, is a complex character. At the beginning of the book, Dirk is a nasty person, always yelling at everyone and being cruel and just plain evil, but as the book goes on, you learn more about him, and realize that he just wants to go home, and is lonely and misunderstood. He lost everything and feels powerless, which affects him a lot. He also becomes kinder towards the end.

The setting of this story is in modern day Britain, in a town called Whiteshields. If the book took place at a different place, people would talk differently, if not in a different language, which could be a problem. If it took place at a different time, like the past, the main character, who starts off injured, could have died, and the book would be over then and there.

The protagonist of this book is the Dark Lord. Often called Dirk by the other characters, he is a Dark Lord from a fantasy world stuck in a human teenagers body. He is always bringing up things like torture, spells, and charms. The other characters like Ms. Cloy think that he is suffering PTSD, and often are weirded out by him. He feels trapped and is always amazed and afraid by inventions like cars and concrete.

I chose this book because I read the back, and I looked at the title. The back talked about the fantasy, spells, and magic in this book, and the humor of it all. The title of the book just sounded so interesting to me, and that was probably the main reason I started reading this book. I also read a few pages, and the story seemed really interesting and mysterious.

If I could ask G-Man 3 questions, I would ask: Why do you think the suntroopers are after you?, What was it like to meet a weird goat god called Khrysomallos?, and what do you think happened when an explosion happened in the sky?

Cade Skywalker, the main character, sees his own father get killed, and gets very angry and revengeful, which brought him closer to the dark side. I think that this was important to Cade, because he saw his own father get murdered, and he almost went to the dark side.

Tone is very important in books, and every book has tones. The tones of Bone are funny, serious, and silly. I think this because it has lots of jokes and kidding around, but there also seems to be something more in the book, something hidden in the past of the Valley...
