Lori is on page 13 of 464 of The Art of Not Being Governed: An Anarchist History of Upland Southeast Asia (Yale Agrarian Studies Series)

Chewy but not hard to read. His focus is on the mountainous plain of Southeast Asia where for centuries various tribes have avoided (until lately) being absorbed into the nearby nation-states. In that sense, an anarchist history. The author is an agrarian policy guy, so I like that he comes to his central points from that perspective.

Good read if you’re interested in extending and understanding Friere’s pedagogy of freedom. Chewy but not too obtuse for a book that’s basically a discussion of theory and philosophy
