I Have 24 Hours to Finish This Book (Send help)

I've been "reading" this book since May/June

But I'm calling it now: I will finish it before the year ends. (Yes, I have less than 24 hours in my time zone.)

Hold me accountable. Wish me luck.

Oh, and it was published on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women?! ... sigh

I'm going to regret this, aren't I? She is going to be like "hehe, ballet core turned dark". ._.

don’t think I’m not reading this book as well (i'm loving it so far, jeje). it’s just taking me a bit longer since it’s a bit complex, and i’ve been juggling a lot lately: multiple job interviews, starting a new semester, taking the IELTS exam, looking into different exchange programs, and so on. but yes, I’m reading this one too! according to my Kobo, i’ve got less than ten hours of reading left to finish it. >:)

i’m a mixture of different emotions. on one hand, I’m ecstatic since The Poppy War was my FAVOURITE book series that I read last year. on the other hand, though, I was somewhat disappointed by Babel. let’s hope Katabasis mixes the "dark academia" elements I loved from Babel with the angst, pain, and intense emotions I experienced in The Poppy War but with a romance element incorporated in it. :)

okay, so... i KNOW i'm taking my long ahh time with this book, but DO NOT underestimate my enjoyment of if. eeek! i love sapphic vampires.

The combinations don’t make sense. It looks like the author just looked for ballet terms and that’s it.

I'll read, what, two chapters more and then I'll decide if it's a soft dnf, dnf or if i'll keep reading it. so far, i don't think it's very TLOU coded... i can slightly, VERY SLIGHTLY, but honestly, nope. the message, that in essence i can agree on, is, sadly, too in your face, not subtle at all. i feel as though that is a trend in media, as of lately. :( let's hope it changes for the better.

I’m barely 10% into the book and I don’t know if I should DNF it because SPOILER the mom is sexually assaulting her son. Yes. She is not in her right mind but it’s just… did you really have to? Why do authors (men) do this with their characters, specially women? SA them of make them commit SA.

I will say his look on women is very… realistic for criminal lawyers (men). My credentials: Econ and law student, daughter to lawyers (mom and dad).

1. I don't like the way the author writes woman. 2. I love the audiobook. The VA is so amazing. "I will not return my painting to a Neanderthal who thinks so little of it that she hides it away where no one can see it." The way he pronounces Neanderthal, aajaja

Slow, much more YA than adult, cringe characters that feel more obsessed than in love, horror…??

I’m enjoying this far too much. There are some things that could be better (at times it is far too quick and maybe a bit YA) but I’m so happy. Just what I needed. Gothic dark vampires with images almost straight out of van helsing’s ball. I love it.
