I am painfully annoyed by Zuleeka, can she just stop being a bitch for more than a few minutes?

Levana is the original rage-baiter. Every page brings me to new heights of ire.

…my bad, she didn’t just imply it was fate, she forced herself on him while using her powers to look like his dead wife. Delightful. 🙂

And then she proceeds to say his wife dying is fate helping them get together… oh, I can’t wait to see her die.

“And yet it was also irksome to think that he needed two entire weeks to mourn his wife, to attach to his daughter.”

…am I meant to find her relatable or…? She is so two-dimensional - either the fragile tortured sister or the vain self-absorbed witch, fantasising about a mourning loyal man with whom she is supposedly in love with. I only see it as desire to possess something of her own. Ugh.

It has become obvious that I will read this book despite Levana’s unbearable character. She is painfully delusional and not even her sad history with her sister is going to make me sympathise with such an ugly and cruel person.

These last 130 pages are going to emotionally destroy me, I can feel it…
