Erin Smith is starting Pawsitively Poisonous (Witch of Edgehill, #1)
This is getting a 1 star for sympathizing with cheating, destroying a woman’s life and there being no consequences for this horrible character. I’m very disappointed that this book has good ratings, where does it deserve it, and with the very subpar writing I just don’t understand. The main character isn’t so much the problem but the husband…. Grrr

I appreciate that Ashton recognizes a similarity between other victims, such as soldiers, to people who experience sexual assault. PTSD does occur off the battlefield, and should be treated with serious consideration

Erin Smith is starting Cackle
This was described as comical, suspenseful, and witchy. So far I'm finding it a bit annoying, not unrealistic as the main has been dumped after 8 or so years and then moves town.

Erin Smith is starting Djinn City
"death by Indelbad" (I'm listening so I am not sure how to spell his name) I have to say death by ridiculous A hat dad. What a dbag. Please die now. No need to awaken from your coma, as a favor to all, die. Don't care if you are Harry Potter, actually is this Harry Potter? This does feel like a curse.

Great so far, but just rooting for death.

Erin Smith is starting Chapter and Curse (Vampire Book Club, #2)
They have once again mentioned that the dead cheater from the previous book was a good man...what what. Then proceed to talk about having to meet him to understand that he made all of the women he was with happy- except his poor wife. There is a lot of the poor wife bandied about.

Not sure if this author is for me.

Erin Smith is starting Any Duchess Will Do (Spindle Cove, #4)
I like this one perhaps most out of all the Tessa Dare I have read. It is hard to judge as I enjoy them all and don't find them annoying. There are always tiny little things that are bothersome. For instance. the poor serving girl is "more than just that, you deserve more", and I find that absolutely obnoxious. Every serving girl is more than her means, it's the same as "you're not like other girls you're special. Ba

Sooo I really hate the " encouragement" fetish that is in this book, as in when R calls our main lady C a good girl. It is ALWAYS creepy and demeaning. It is basically treating a woman as a child in a sexual situation. It is absolutely weird and pedophiliac. No an A in Absolutely no. No no No. Like that the main is curvy though.

Another point that the doctor made was that in the future society may well look at crime in a purely scientific light, that criminal behavior might simply be due to "glands", a disease rather than a character flaw to be punished for, and their families punished for. He also cited suicide rates. He was adamant that these people should be out of the hands of police/parson. That they are innocent. AC is Queen.

I am really enjoying this book. I was also surprised by a certain passage between the Vicar and the doctor. They were discussing capital punishment and crime through a scientific perspective. The Doctor was talking about how in the future they would cringe from the way people handled the law against the citizens much like they currently felt remorse for witch burnings in that time.

So this is going to get incredibly cheesy I think. I am not sure how this could be an interesting and complex relationship plot. Not to say it will be bad, but I foresee...issues
