I’ve loved the other books in this series but honestly I’m pretty bored by this one, and I still have a third left. There are also a couple things that are getting repetitive and annoying.

I intentionally skipped this book and started with Book 2 because one of the main characters is Marlon. My dad’s name was Marlen. It’s not a super common name. I really enjoyed the second book so I decided to try it and hope it’s not weird but there was one spicy scene where Reed kept using Marlon’s name and yeah that was weird.

I’m struggling to get into this book. I liked the other books in this series but this is just really slow and kind of boring. I think I’ll take a break and go back to it later.

So far this is definitely my least favorite in this series

I’m enjoying this series more and more as I go on, but this book has flashbacks and I really hate flashbacks.

Not a miscommunication trope so much as both actively avoiding talking to each other.

I’m a little annoyed by one of the main characters in this book. He has a sliver of self awareness (“what am I doing for him?”) but then does nothing to change his behavior.

I’m 2/3 of the way through this book and I kind of hate it. Beck is great. Beck is a ray of freaking sunshine. Pretty much everyone in this book treats him well, except Forest, who at best is neglectful. Forest doesn’t deserve Beck, and I’m struggling to want to continue.

Listening to the audiobook (free on the Audible Plus catalog). It started out pretty good but I’m at 35% and it’s getting a little too campy for me.
