I’ve got to say I really appreciate Joe Hills writing style I’ve witnessed this girls life from childhood to art student despairing over being loves hostage since she had a baby.

Vic got her Raleigh back! And Vic immediately goes looking for trouble and ends up at the Sled house of Christmas Land. Oh this rescue mission has gone really bad.

Loving the addition of the marked traitors in Vi’s inner circle or circling her circle I guess. Liam is a wonderful addition. Also Amber sucked and I feel bad for her dragon 🐉

I love the dramatic reading of this! Ripley’s lineage is cursed.

Rocky the alien spider is delightful! I just finished chapter 17 and they found astrophage’s homeworld and a naturally occurring preadator(s)! I’m really getting into the story now it’s hard to stop reading.

I’m really enjoying this so far. It’s easy to visualize and the surprised and determined get it right attitude of Grace is delightful.

I started over listening to the audio book in the morning instead of before bed because I need more mind power to focus on science talk. The plot is very interesting and we just encountered a space ship 🚀 also space algae depleting the Sun is such an intriguing concept!

At the half way point of this book the plot armor of the protagonist frustrated me. This is a great read for escapism it’s non problematic to the point that it feels there are no real stakes at risk. The protagonist is fighting for everyone around her to survive while death appears underwhelming living in proof that after death there’s essentially paradise and Hades constantly supports her and her wishes.

This just made me cry 😭

I Love Lyra and adore this version of Hades, very accountant like. This is an excellent protagonist to be in trial after trial with such a self less attitude towards her competitors.

I started this book maybe 4 days ago but my progress wasn’t saved on here, oh well. I’m finishing the book now and I adore Lana. There’s something special about characters with drive and internal ambition that doesn’t stop when driving circumstances cease to be a threat. I liked the family feel and writing style of this one.

I wasn’t sure when I started it but I’m really intrigued and want to keep reading. I like the concept of an older woman that figured out how to make do and just stuck to it in her beautiful haunted home.

I was right Leah’s going to be lost to the sea!🌊 Utterly tragic as it is I like the plot of Marine Researcher essentially becoming a mermaid but of course transformation doesn’t occur without loss.

This entire book is about grief. Specifically it focuses on grief that comes of disaster leaving you unprepared floating in confusion and at times desperate. I’d say looming loss is the main theme as seen through Miri’s mom dying of Alzheimer’s of her hypochondria and fear for her future health -what will Leah’s story become. She’s like a self fulfilling prophecy but it’s not gills she grows.

This woman, Leah, is going to be lost to the sea 🌊

Personal preference of mine: I don’t love the tone of this book. It’s very heavy and drawn out which is fitting given the plot surrounds Miri a hypochondriacs wife trudging through life with her wife who she gave up for dead after her 3 week submarine mission was drawn out to 6 months lost to the depths of the sea.🌊

Decided I’m not finishing this book because I have a feeling it’s going to get really detailed and focus on torturing and forever trapping these characters in what might as well be hell. I don’t want to go through that. Also I looked at a synopsis and the only character I’m invested in kills herself after being saved from torture so I’m out.

I am genuinely afraid right now and stopping myself from looking up spoilers. They’re following Basil into the closets impossible hallway! I would never!!! This is clearly the opening to the wardens “Beehive”/prison that they were just threatened with!

The concept is interesting. The protagonist is negative in an annoying way. Lots of room for improvement though so she could really show out in the third act. This would make a fun movie.

I hate the narrator and am not surprised he was the murderer because he’s awful. That isn’t to say everyone else doesn’t suck too. The big plan of putting blanks in the gun and humiliating him and then just saying get off my island. Like I would have expected that guy to go on a shooting spree he already intended to kill!

You know what it is. I was brought up to never side with a pathetic man. Ted Bundy was the example of why we do not seek to help men that want us to know how pathetic they are. This narrator is not a man I can rute for and that’s despite his childhood bullying and messed up relationship power dynamics with Barbra.

I don’t like the narrator, there’s just something about how he talks about himself like he’s a forever victim. I’m tired of listening to him but I want to know what happens. I predicted the affair that was predictable and I feel like the narrator is just slowing down plot with sad woe is every character in this book. It’s dragging.

I imagine this would have been difficult to write. So many shifting perspectives each character with a different hand of knowledge. I am not as immersed as I tend to get in murder mysteries but I am intrigued so I will continue.

Truth is difficult to face.
