read this before book 1 and loved it, just finished book 1, didn't love it as much, now back here

the edge series is my favourite c.d. reiss series and one of my favourite book series in general, so i'm not one to complain about a medical plot, but i didn't expect this to turn into grey's anatomy

i love the concept but i feel like im constantly zoning out of the audiobook 😭

if i never have to read another book with a teeny tiny fmc and a biggggg massive mmc it will be too soon

i feel like this is soo predictable but i still love the writing and it's engaging

ich hab mich so auf dieses buch gefreut, aber struggle echt 🥲 vllt sind das die mediziner in meiner familie, aber ich finde erwachsene männer, die free running machen und motorrad fahren, so unverantwortlich...und dann redet er noch über familienplanung? und wenn deine ehefrau damit nicht klar kommt, heißt es halt entweder hobbys oder ehe weg. die arme kriegt ja immer so panik (berechtigt!)

im learning a lot about 14th century england and the early lancasters but this is just a love letter to john of gaunt 😭 im a historian too and i understand that it's sometimes hard to not fall in love with your subjects and that you want to defend them everywhere but i feel like we can also acknowledge that gaunt had his bad moments!

how do you all feel about the "he pays off her debt(s)" trope? ive never had to deal with much debt and it's not as big a deal/as common in germany as it is in the us, so while i understand why the fmcs are upset that the mmcs do it without talking to them first most of them, i just cant fathom not being happy/relieved that their debts are paid off?
