A fun read with a twisty mystery.

I am enjoying comparing the books with the movies. There is so much depth in Tolkien's writing. The description of scenery, and the inner thoughts of characters, is beautifully written.

A llama and alpaca farm is the focus of this mystery n the Creative Woman Mysteries series.

Once I found my footing in the unfamiliar culture, I couldn't put down the book. There are dual timelines that meet at the end. The 1916 storyline meshes with the 1921 in a satisfying conclusion. Perveen seemed spoiled, and definitely headstrong. But those characteristics are what carried her through tough challenges. She won't put up with any disrespect just because she's a young woman operating in a man's world.

I didn't expect to like this novel as much as I did. It was a book club selection, and I don't typically read thrillers, especially ones with a supernatural angle. I got caught up in Audrey Lake's complicated life, and the two cases that placed her right in the path of danger. This is the third book in the series, but I had no trouble catching up with the story. A fun, exciting read.

The book I've been looking for. A Field Guide to Murder was such a fun read! Yes, there was murder and mayhem, but with a cozy mystery touch - not too heavy or dark. I enjoyed every twist and turn, but best of all, the characters. Harry and Emma were perfect amateur sleuths. A traditional mystery with a Mrs. Pollifax vibe. I'm looking forward to the next book by this author.
