Part thriller, part coming-of-age, the story is set in 1955 Denver, Colorado. Based on a true event, the author made the human aspect of a tragic event gripping and moving.

Reading a novel in a sunny Greek setting felt like taking a little vacation in the middle of winter. I enjoyed the coded main clue, and Scarlett and Allie's attempts to solve it.

I had a hard time getting into the story. I'm not sure why - it was a bit slow-paced. Might have been my mood. But the story did pick up as I continued reading. I need to go back and read the series in order. I've read a couple of the early stories.

An exciting read! Wow! Colorado. Mountains. Survival. Twisted plot. Adorable yet scary service dogs. And an advancing character arc that starts in book one. I like that Maya is a veteran overcoming her issues with alcohol. Highly recommend the entire series.

I feel like I'm visiting old friends when I return to the repurposing shop. Another fun, fast read in the series! Keep them coming!

I finished Stone & Tide. While it has an open ending, with a promise of further adventure in the next installment, this second book in the series had a satisfying ending. The characters make personal progress. A crisis is looming!
