Catherine is on page 50 of 427 of Valiant Ambition: George Washington, Benedict Arnold, and the Fate of the American Revolution (The American Revolution Series)
I set this aside for quite a while. Digging back in, and being captivated by history of the American Revolution. Part two of a three book set.

Catherine is finished with Cat Cross Their Graves (Joe Grey, #10)
Another thrilling entry in the series. Talking cats, a tricky mystery, and just a touch of romance.

Catherine is finished with Squashed: A Snack-Sized Mystery
Squashed is another appetizing entry in the Snack-Sized Mystery series by Jeff Schmoyer. If you haven't read any of these addictive short mysteries, start with Smoked. There's a fun character arc starting with book one you'll want to follow. Food, and a mystery to solve. It's the complete meal deal.

Catherine is finished with Wolverine Instincts (Gabriel Hawke Novel Book 13)
I received this book free at Left Coast Crime 2025. It's way deep into an existing series, but I didn't have trouble getting into the characters and story. An enjoyable wilderness adventure, I now want to go back to the first book in the series.

Catherine
Catherine is finished with Bunker Hill: A City, a Siege, a Revolution (The American Revolution Series)
Bunker Hill presents the history leading up to the Declaration of Independence. Philbrick creates a very human story of flawed people and moments of heroism. I didn't think focusing on Bunker Hill and the siege of Boston could carry an entire book, but found myself wanting even more of the story by the end.

Catherine is finished with Tossed: A Snack-Sized Mystery Cruise
Have you discovered the snack-sized mysteries? If not, you're missing an appetizing treat. In book three, Murph goes on a cruise. Expect lots of food descriptions, and a murder. I recommend starting with book one. You could hop in anywhere in the series, but for the most fun, get them all and read in order.

Catherine is finished with Tell Me What You Did
I don't typically read thriller, but the premise of this one was based on a true crime podcast. I love true crime podcasts, and have several favorites I listen to. The novel was a page turner. Now I'm heading back to something more comfortable.

Catherine is finished with Stone & Sky (Stone & Sky, #1)
A dollop of Tolkien, a dash of Narnia, make for a fun recipe for a YA high fantasy. I enjoyed following characters through their quests, leading them all to a final battle scenario. But was it the final battle? Humans, elves, trolls, dwarves, and goblins bond with pegasi, griffins, a dragon, and other creatures.

A very different read for me - a fantasy with dwarves, elves, griffins, and human warriors with PTSD. I really want to know what happens to these characters!

Catherine is finished with The Queen of All Poisons
I don't usually read thrillers, but this one caught my attention. Written by a PhD with real life experience in pathology and toxicology, I looked forward to a story with a factual underpinning. I was not disappointed. This is a complex story, so get ready for a roller coaster ride!

A mini-novel packed full of mayhem and murder. A fun, quick read with lots of food as Murphy the restaurant blogger becomes embroiled in another case. Or two or three.

Catherine is finished with The Pioneers: The Heroic Story of the Settlers Who Brought the American Ideal West
I read this hoping I'd be inspired to resume work on the story of my homesteader ancestors. This non-fiction history followed people through decades and generations, told in an engaging style.

Catherine is finished with Pride and Prejudice: The Complete Novel, with Nineteen Letters from the Characters' Correspondence, Written and Folded by Hand (Handwritten Classics)
I enjoyed re-reading this classic novel, especially because the letters in the body of the narrative were written out as actual letters. Such a treat!
