I am having a really hard time understanding this story, it takes place in Russia and skips around years, the Russian names of people and Cities is so foreign to me that I cannot keep things straight and have been writing down brief things. Also the perspective is from several people and some of it is italicized such as a letter or book.

I like the author, Marie Benedict, but I don’t like the main character who is Churchill’s wife and puts his career above her children.

Boring, I am considering not finishing and I have read half way through. I confused Jane Smiley with Jane Harper, love Harper.

Slow. Don't know if I will finish.
