‘Maybe Maple’ is such a terrible channel name

Again, is this an 11 year old or 5 year old? Does the author not know how to write preteens? Was Piper originally supposed to be 5 but she was aged up and everyone just forgot about the dialogue where she talks and acts like a toddler?

“And I had decided she didn’t know the word for safe” I would hope that a preteen knows what a safe is and has seen one

Last few paragraphs of chapter 30 and the top of chapter 31 feel especially egregious to me with writing Piper like she’s 5

“Floppy’s in a police car, that’s so random. At least that means he’s safe, is he safer than we are Aunt Eliza?” Is this an 11 year old or 5 year old?

Has the author met an 11 year old? Piper reads like she’s 2

Why would you not call the police and ask for a welfare check?

It’s taking me forever to get through this book and it’s not that long. I don’t care anymore

The constant flip flopping between Saint Aurelie, London and Edinburgh is driving me crazy. There’s even a scene where they get back to Edinburgh then go right back to Saint Aurelie
