DNF at 7%. Just not very good writing.

Finally reached Part II, Personals, and I immediately enjoy the book and Ms. Didion as a character much more. Phew! Things are looking up.

This Didion person is a bit unbearable, isn't she? Anyone who thinks differently from her instantly becomes a target for gleeful mockery disguised as journalistic observation. She strikes me as the kind of person who was probably a playground bully as a kid, in the more subtle way - torturing her perceived inferiors psychologically rather than physically.

DNF at 11%. Could have used better editing to weed out certain inconsistencies and oddities that kept disturbing the flow of the story.
