Very promising start

I’m trying.. it’s picking up slightly as we have finally arrived and met some of the aliens. Still can’t stand the cringy dialogue seeped in “humour”

I can’t stand the mundane yet flirtatious conversations between the characters. The author keeps teasing whatever terrible thing happened on that planet in a way that doesn’t evoke excitement. There better be a twist or some type of redemption as the first 200 pages have been mostly a struggle to grapple with.

Definitely not as religion-heavy as I thought it would be, permeated by flirtatious sense of humour between some of the characters with a hint of sexual tension. Still waiting for the sci-fi/philosophical aspects to kick in.

Starting this as a gift for my best friend 🎁 Hope I’m proven wrong about my expectations

Little did I know what was ahead of me in my reading journey of the TBP series! This shapes to be my favourite sci fi trilogy with Death’s End sitting on top and I still have a handful of pages to finish from it. Witty and highly imaginative!
