Not sure how much longer I'll read this. It seems there is more effort giving long descriptions of plants, medicines, hunting, religious rituals etc than character development and the relationships between them. Or maybe I'm just not in the mood right now.

Great book, but I can only read it in short doses. Heartbreaking...but with hope in it as well

This book cuts close to home...ripping my heart out. But amazing.

Not sure I'm going to read much more...

To my friends who have read this book...It is beautifully written and I want to keep reading even though I have to immediately push down some of the horrific things I read (you know what I'm talking about). I just read the first paragraph of the chapter about the white-haired boy. I am terrified to read on. Can I skip this chapter? My heart is so soft I'm not sure it would survive reading it.

I was ready to put this down until about 20 pages ago...I was bored to tears. However, it has picked up a bit and I am going to keep going. But I just have to vent and say I am so tired of reading "Father Moon", "Mother Sea", "Father Earth", "Father Peace" etc. I can't promise I won't smother myself with a pillow if I have to read them one more time...which is a scary prospect since one of them is on every other page

Never thought I'd say this about Baldacci but this is a slog. Not sure I'll finish it. I'm struggling with all the excess verbiage and extraneous explanations (I'm not stupid haha). Plus it was written in 1996 so I'm struggling with the archaic technology...

Great book!

It started to pick up for me and I'm excited to read what happens in the next 30% of the book. However, I'll be happy to move on to a non Game of Thrones book afterward...I've been reading them exclusively since September.

I need something to actually happen in this book ;-)

Hmmm...I'm a bit disappointed with this one thus far. I miss some of my favorite characters. I also feel it gets caught up with more minutiae than the others...I don't mind minutiae, but at times this one gets tedious with it. Not much has happened yet and I'm a third of the way through.

Wow...this one grabbed me from the start. I wish I didn't have things to do so I could just read it in one gulp!
