Ok, this is irksome… Sugar is book 3 and Tender is book 4, but we’re getting spoilers about book 4 already. It’s like reading Pretty Boy, which is 1.5, but really ought to be read *after* book 2… Lindsey, do better arranging your stories.

I haven’t been this pissed off reading a book in a long time. At first, it was the overprotective brother cock-blocking his baby brother. Now it’s the other MC.

This is becoming a hate read … pity, because I loved the first book …

DNFing for too many stupid mistakes. It’s cute enough, but between the meh premise of 2 insanely rich people courting and my having gotten spoiled with actual proofreading, I just can’t.

The formatting in this book is so screwed up. Multiple hard breaks in the middle of sentences. No breaks between dialogue. It’s making it difficult to stay in the story. Unnecessary indentations. This file needs to be dumped into an ascii text program and dumped back into whatever word processor was used to reformat it cleanly. Yikes!

Are any of the characters actually likable?

Ok, so maybe I’ve reached the crisis point, but it’s hitting close to home

I’ve tried. I got halfway through, but I really don’t care about any of the main characters. Also, the pacing is just weird. I know kink relationships move fast, but this is ridiculous.

The prose seems bland and the dialog leaden.

Also, who in their right mind would ask someone to uproot their lives and move 2,000 miles away without their ever having even visited first?

So many things irking me at this point … feels like the author isn’t paying attention to the details. Sad because I loved the first book in the series. MC2 is talking like he’s 47, not 27, and he’s supposed to be the Daddy, the one setting rules, but he left without a detailed schedule of who’s going to visit whom and when. Sounds like an irresponsible Daddy to me, leaving his boy untethered like that.

Trigger warning: victim-blaming. I can deal with a lot of triggers, but victim-blaming is a hard limit for me. I’m DNFing it here.

I’m curious about the story, but the lack of proofreading is driving me crazy. All of my highlights are going to proofreading edits. 🤦🏻
