How TF is this a Goodreads choice winner? I truly have doubt about the readership. Just because she had one famous book prior doesn't automatically qualify this as a fantastic read. Painful to get through.

The entire book is just about American politics. What is it that we never say. Ugh.

Struggle city 😭

It was a whole lot of everything and a whole lot of nothing, the premise is clear but the journey was tortuously convoluted and I was thrown every mathematical and physics theory that ever exists that I wasn't sure if I was just reading the book to commend the author on how smart she is. Whatever it was, it wasn't it. And the narrator was terrible. Soz.

Did not finish. Found it really dry despite carrying the same feeling of dread as the protagonist. Could also be that the narrator's voice didn't jive with me, I found it extremely annoying and unbearable.

Only a few chapters in and my heart is already aching. Beautiful writing

Hindsight truly is 50/50, he is a walking red flag from start to finish. Belle has been so conditioned to rationalise everything he says or does and embellished it as being a true husband, or being a worthy man. Jesus. He basically robbed her of her entirety. Scum.
