UGH WHAT A TWIST!! I LOVE THIS BOOK

i only just started this book and already, the first chapter blew me away. this is going to be one hell of a ride

gritting my teeth through this one

upon reflection i forgot why i took a break from reading this final stretch of the book — right at when things were starting to get really interesting with Lila and [redacted]. i think it was because i thought, rather foolishly, that if i found the right headspace, then i could finish it in one sitting? anyway that didn't happen. i'm pretty sure i forgot a bunch of stuff about the characters.

BUT I'M BACK NOW!!!

i know it's expressed clearly in the title, but i am still in awe of how much of a genius Lila is? with every chapter, i find myself rooting for her and constantly frustrated that the societal pressures of the neighborhood cannot give her the support she needs and are thwarting her success
