Who would have thought the history of fairly niche genre would be such an interesting read. I don't come back to it that often, and read usually a few dozen pages, because in between I try to hunt down at least some of the films mentioned. And I must admit if not quite arthouse, especially that most of them are commercial products, many of the productions have quite a distinct and artsy flavour.
