The writing is good, the setting is good... but it's basically a teenage love story at the moment - blegh - Give me some Xenomorph action please!

KRAD is a personal favourite author but this story is eating at me, soz.

Lizzie, a Liver, scarcely more than a child, had walked 200 miles to New York, dipped what was supposed to be an impenetrable energy shield, subverted the Paterson Protect security equipment and sat there eager to pit herself against one of the world's major pharmaceutical companies.

The "individual" wasn't really important for radical change?

"But a community is not congruent with a business arrangement. It must mean more"

Only my second Kress read but easily a favourite author.

"People are afraid to say the wrong thing, so instead of taking the risk, they say nothing. And then you end up all alone, surrounded by people."

She shook her head at the foolishness of the idea. "Figure out how to get past the closed door first," she thought, "then promote yourself to divinity."

A little over half way and still having some fun. A tad on the repetitive side, event-wise.

un-putdown-able

The only character that I actually like so far is the dog. But actually, I took a four-book break and I'm finding that I'm enjoying this more now that I've returned. I guess it all just feels like build up and I'm keen for the world to end so the real story can start.

A well trained dog will be an asset in a post apocalypse scenario.

Case 1 feels easy, case 2 is the most intriguing and case 3 is like what the feck is this all about hahah!

Looking forward to it all merging into one case somehow.

Not at all convinced yet that I will finish this book.

Picked a random number, but I am at the business end. Should probably have had this done yesterday or even the night before, but I've been in the mood for music this weekend...

I'm still liking the story but it does perhaps feel a little tedious and maybe a tad formulaic. I mean don't ask me, I'm just a pleb, and I'm in it for the duration anyway.

The unfolding events are entertaining and interesting but I would gladly ditch all the back-stories and dreams and flashbacks etc...

Suitably intrigued at this point.

This story is so fkn good. I just didn't realise it was part of a series until I came over here to mark it as started, oops. But oh, well. I'm definitely going to do this series, *checks calendar,* yeah - this year for sure.

Found the start a bit meh, but I'm actually enjoying this one more than the first one now.

The story that keeps on giving.
