Swapping one YA Fantasy for another. Hopefully this ends with less tears of disappointment, though that introduction tells me those tears might be for a different reason entirely.

I’m hoping that I’m just in a bad mood tonight, because tell me why it SUDDENLY took a turn for the worst😆

I feel like I’m making another ill-fated Weavingshaw-esque claim, but… this seems VERY promising. As in, 5 stars promising.

I’m worried.

Reread everything and trying again. Already going much better than my first attempt.

I feel tired, honestly. The pacing is odd and the whole thing is just coming apart at the seams. The “slow burn” is about the only thing keeping it alive. Had you told me what the climax was, I would not have believed you.

I thought I cleared the hurdle and the author cleverly bamboozled me, but it seems that my prediction from Chapter 6 might come true. My very obvious prediction for a twist ending. I am so upset right now…

I can’t fully get into it, but there is a BUNCH of these delightfully hilarious turns of phrase. Let’s just say the author is using that med degree and it has me in stitches! I can’t tell you how many grim scenes have fallen victim to these one-liners.

Hrrrm. I can’t believe I’m so conflicted! I have NO idea what the hell I’m going to rate this.

I’ve encountered some minor problems thus far, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the Fantasy twist it took. It’s taking me forever to make progress, however! I have no idea why it feels endless, but thankfully the story is still keeping me engaged.

Damnit! It’s so good!😭 I’m afraid it remains so, but equally afraid that it disappoints me greatly. What have I gotten myself into?

I’ve been ITCHING to pick this one up! My inner peace be damned, I know there is a cliffhanger coming and I’m preemptively embracing the pain.

I’m in such a pickle! I genuinely like the story, but is it possible to overlook its *heavily* “inspired” plot?
