Simultaneously jealous of people who are reading for the first time and don’t know what’s going to happen and pretty sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t know what to expect.

Ok, this is starting to annoy me. There are so many little continuity errors. Like at the beginning, Seren “abandoned the sunflower seeds,” but there had been nothing about sunflower seeds before that. And a character’s eyes are “darkening like ink dripped in gold,” then “still that milky, filmy white,” and then “inky black.” WITW, this is hurting my brain.

I love Mariana Zapata but the describing every character as "the man who" or "the boy who" instead of just using their names is about to drive me crazy.

Why is this book so long?

This book is definitely Felicity Smoak/Oliver Queen fanfic, though, right?

"The killer was in this cave with me. My vow is furious and heartfelt." WHY? Why would you change tense there? That makes no sense.

Did anyone edit this? Even informally?

"The meadow had now been harvested and is empty." This makes me want to pull my hair out.

I want to read this book, but the weird verb tense shifts and lack of commas are very distracting.

Is this Disney fanfiction?

This book needs some editing REAL BAD.

I love that the book switches from third to first person here. I feel like I've gone from a Jane Austen story to a Charlotte Bronte story and the style reflects that shift.

Come on, editors, if they've only been together since May (5 months before Homecoming), he wouldn't have given her lingerie last Christmas.

This book feels like a combination of Speak and TFIOS with less clever writing. There's also a hint of the Twilight "I'm the pale, awkward new girl and all these boys are in love with me" thing. All the reviews mention a dark side and a twist at the end, and I have an idea what that is, but I'm still reading because I hope I'm wrong.

How is this book so boring? The summary seemed so promising. I love Gothic novels and fairy tales. But the plot is so predictable and the writing is so awkward. I just want it to be over. Will it ever end?

This is the second time the author has spelled "y'all" wrong and used it as a singular pronoun. If a contraction stands for "you all" how's it going to be talking about one person?! I find it hard to believe that she did a bunch of historical research about the South and did not stumble across this basic rule.
