Ridiculously slow. 1/2 way through & I feel like the salt marsh has drained all the colour out of the cryptic storylines.

Jealous: as a woman we can only donate to Canadian Blood services once every 86 days. So I can roughly 4, maybe 5x a Year depending on how my schedule falls.
She gets to donate weekly x 2 = 27 donations in a year.

I scrolled through the reviews and opted to begin at the end. If I’m going to get bored I’d rather it be closer to the back cover than the front.

Bothersome little comparison glitch:

Book 2: From the porch JuneBug can see the creek (which is more like a river).
Book 1: Alice tells Maddy the creek is more like a stream than a creek.

Walt has a cast and his hand yet still goes out on motorcycle rides on the wknds? How? As a motorcyclist myself I need both hands functional one to use the clutch and other my hand break.
This over sight is bothersome.

Chapter 6 such a dry book. Oh gawd *flips pages* still 54 chapters to go... 😫 Hoping it picks up.

The new house sounds amazing! The baby math doesn't add up. Apparently it's only been a year since the tornado and in that time Casey has added 2 more kids to his brood. Irksome.

How is it that Matthews (killed off in book 2) suddenly has his job (albeit demoted to deputy) and life back?

I don't know if this book picks up but the first 2 chapters droned on & couldn't entice me to continue so I've put it back on the shelf.

pg 132 paragraph 2 quote: I dislike pessimism, but someone's the things we see can't be glossed over." it's all pessimistic w/contradicting phrases/ideas. Ie: introduction has a put down comment of people who simply donate to a charitable org or sponsor children, in hopes to rectify a situation. Yet farther in admits to seeking donations and sponsors for children requiring serious and expensive medical intervention.
