Started listening to this, free, on Spotify. Received a Kindle for Christmas and am now reading it (re-reading, actually). And, because I find this remarkably helpful, I may purchase a used copy to highlight and dog-ear.

Where do I start? There are so many pages of this book that speak directly to my own experience of an abusive relationship. The extent to which she describes the emotional cruelties, the game-playing, the irrational and unpredictable mood swings of her (then) partner, at times, parallel years of my marriage.

Her writing is utterly gorgeous. The concept of memoir footnoted with motifs from folk lit is brilliant.
