Omg, the FMC character was named after Cher from the movie Clueless. I had to look up when it came out because it felt like that would make her a CHILD. Nope, she could be as old as 30 and still be named after the movie… I knew hearing ‘my’ music on the oldies station would hurt but no one mentioned anything about this pain. It’s a stab in my, ancient, gut.

Are ALL the FMCs in this series going to love being spanked and called ‘good girl’? It’s like reading the same book with then same characters over and over again.

They really think that tying up the FMC, the person in charge of security, is a good idea when they are hiding from the baddies?

Is walking four miles, round trip, in the snow to something that people do? Like it was just a stroll down the block and a perfectly normal thing to do?

She JUST broke up with her cheating boyfriend but no need for condoms because she’s ‘clean’. How TF does she know that? She broke up with the cheater the day before she met the 1st guy/left town so no time to get tested.

First thing the MMC thinks when he realizes his anonymous sexting partner is he’s daughter’s teacher is “My mysterious human pet was Nikki Rios, my daughter’s teacher.” Human PET!?! Sakkara was much more likable in the books of the series that weren’t his.

One of the MMCs runs an animal sanctuary. The old owner of the land it’s on has been gone minimum a year but she used to leave the window open so one of the sanctuary cats could visit. Meaning they’ve had AT LEAST a year to get the cat fixed but she has 2 kittens. There are 32 cats “Unless someone gave birth overnight. Which is possible.” Less a ‘sanctuary’ and more a cat breeding facility. :-/

Boy this guy isn’t a bosshole, he is a straight up A$$HOLE. Cutting in line isn’t a great introduction to the MMC but when someone complains for him to call her “some nobody” and say that’s she’s “Just another insignificant little girl who doesn’t know her place.” There had better be some SERIOUS character growth and groveling for me.

The FMC keeps thinking she’s “professional” and a “businesswoman” but has yet to do anything professional or business like. Almost a week into reading this book, barely made it 80 pages and I hate this boring chick.

You know when you shouldn’t be bogged down by reality, it’s a shifter book after all, but the ridiculousness of something won’t stop bugging you? The FMC has a JUST DONUTS (and drop coffee) bakery that is only open 4-9 PM and somehow manages to earn a living in a small town. !?!?!

Omg, this chick is too stupid, too arrogant, too narcissistic, simply too annoying for words. The guy is all cut up and practically bleeding to death and she decides that he needs CPR! I guess giving CPR to someone whose heart and breathing is fine is supposed to be funny but ???? Better change her entire personality or there’s no way I’ll get through this thing, no matter how short it is.

7 pages in and I’m already lost. This is supposed to be the first book in a series but it is obviously a continuation of another series! Multiple characters already mentioned and they all have stories the reader should, apparently, already know. HATE fake 1st in a series books!!!!

D/lg is not my thing. I can deal but I don’t go looking for it. This book is teaching me that when the D has know the lg since she was an actual little girl, in case 5, it kinda grosses me out.

Literally 3-4 pages in and I’m already sick of this FMC who is, apparently, a religious/cult wack job.

The MMC is a soon to be divorced, broke, no job, car reprocessed, living in his parents basement guy and he wants the FMC to be ‘at his beck and call’ and to ‘follow his rules’. But it’s all good because has a nice ass and he’s “dreamy”.

“Until she finds a man of her own to look after her, she’ll be under my protection.” How….condescending? Creepy? Cringe inducing?

Dumb FMCs really annoy me.

Wait. What? At the begging the FMC said her parents had tried for years to get pregnant and she was a ‘miracle baby’. Now the MMC, who is 15 yrs older than the FMC, just said her father is only 8 yrs older than him. So ancient, trying-for-a-baby-for-years Dad was only 23 when she was born???

“Just grab your big hose, point it at me, and squirt.” “At first, I think she’s flirting with me. But I quickly realize she’s not. This girl is just really that sweet. So sweet she doesn’t even realize what she’s said to me.” Sorry but that’s not ‘sweet’ that’s just stupid.

“She hadn’t lived in a state prone to earthquakes but she’d heard enough about them not to worry.” In my mind, having grown up on Hawaii Island, ots of little earthquakes means there’s an unhappy volcano near by getting ready to blow, lol.

Really, a rant about the capitalism of gluten free and vegan food? MMC is a pain.
