I do love him... unfortunately, this story leans heavily into insta-love, which isn’t really my favorite trope. I was hoping for more of a day-in-the-life feel in the medieval era, not something in modern times.

Some of the words are quite challenging, and the first chapter almost sends me dyslexic. Maybe it's just me? I've been challenging myself by reading classics tho. But this book is quiet fun and it gets better.

I'm unsure whether to label this with a dark tag or not. The early chapters left me feeling angry and traumatized. As the book progresses, it's set around the year 800, a time when women were seen merely as that low and the events reflect that harsh reality.

All I feel is disgust.

I don't know why this book isn't a big hit. I love it so much, and it truly deserves more recognition. I’ve connected deeply with the characters, finding their perspectives incredibly relatable in my own life (even though this clearly a regency romance 🚬). Definitely one of my favorite book of 2024.

God, I've never been so disappointed. First of all, I like the best friend's older brother × sunshine and witty woman trope. But they are both insufferable. He is acting like an ass, not surprised, to be honest. Meanwhile, she is so naïve, it contradicts what the author wanted this girl to be. I don't know if I can finish this book without complaining.

This is the first book from Julia Quinn, and I think this book is not really to my liking. The guy is acting like a miserable asshole, and this fucker doesn't deserve shit. I do hope he'll grovel later or im out with his bullshit ass
