Guess what? So did mine. 82 A.D. Not only do these Romans have explosives, potatoes and spyglasses, no, they also have semi-automatic (?) cannons (on a ship no less)! The series is not bad but these obvs anachronisms are wearing me down.

I'm starting to wonder if the author isn't trying to juggle more story arcs than she can manage. We'll see.

Goodness, this is so weird. I'm kind-of carbon-dating myself because the whole "how-many-twitter-followers-do-you-have" is really not my scene but then again, the book gets a time stamp as well because in 2029 people are going like "WTF is twitter and why should I care?"

Ok, I do realise that this a book in the Bluewater Bay series, so it will be read mostly by straight women. That's fine.

But I don't know how it took me so long to identify what pisses me off about the book. There is no female support system. None. Anna's BFFs are all gay men. I don't think that she has even talked to another woman on page except Natalya and her ex-girlfriend, Leigh. WTF? This is just wrong.
