One of my queens has written a new book. Here we go! It's sure to be a masterpiece.

Kudos to this book for having the most disgusting first kiss scene in it I've ever read. If I was meant to swoon, I was trying not to barf. Basically saying y'all both tasted like the gross food you ate is nasty lol

A woman winds up in the fictional town of her favorite novel (I love these premises lol), but she winds up realizing the town is stuck and she thinks it's up to her to finish the story- but there's one character who stands out who doesn't want her to do so? Count me in! Some romance, plenty of magical realism, & so I'm hopeful it's good.

I was a sucker for the cover. Knowing the genre is YA vampires and after reading the first chapter, this might end up being too cliche for me and I may drop it. After all, I'm supposed to be scared of a thin, 18 year old vampire overlord? I'm sure my eyeroll is louder than my scoff.

The main character is hateful and unlikable from the start but what a grimly intriguing story?! 😬

Wow the dance at this ball finale is wickedly delightful. I’m cackling 🤣🤣🤣

With a title like that I am hoping this will be hilarious. However it’s been pretty gory and gruesome so far lol. It’s a zombie apocalypse so it tracks tho 😆

This will be a hard book to read, but it is one that I believe should be read.

I guess I gave into my curiosity for a roman empire inspired world run by vampires with Hunger Games-style trials and of course special abilities b/c why not? lol

This book is veryAlice in Wonderland-esque.
It's more out there than this author's previous work, Water Moon, if you can believe it. I love it though- the ridiculousness of jumping inside a sake bottle or kettle into another dimension is the best!

Still unsure of the blurb tbh but I have barely started but we’ll see. What I wanted to comment on was the map!!! The inside map is one of the most detailed and perfect maps I’ve seen! I don’t need my imagination for this! lol

I’m so heartbroken by the portrayal of a madhouse during this era. How women were not mad most of the time but just trying to fend off vile men and then their punishment was to be thrown in these houses and tortured. It’s sick. So sad for those women of the past

On page 50 and I feel like I already put the pieces together and I know who the villain is lol. I kinda hope I'm wrong though b/c otherwise I'll be slightly disappointed with how predictable that was. =_=

Not gonna lie...I'm kinda disappointed b/c rather than being absorbed into the atmosphere of this like her other books have done, I find myself bored... I'll keep reading though. It's her first adult novel so I have hopes.

I’m getting pissed. She’s literally slicing her feet to fit the glass slippers she’s grown out of bc she believes they contain magic to keep everyone, husband included, charmed by her. Meanwhile she’s driving him away obsessing over her feet when her whole point was to keep her husband in love with her. 🙄 this better not continue the entirety of the book

Wow Prince Hugh is annoying af

Man one aspect of the storyline plot that annoys me- in the first book Powerless I mentioned the Trials were the Hunger Games. now with this book it is literally copying again the plot point where Paedyn has to enter the Trials AGAIN (like how Katniss did with the Quarter Quell). This just rubs me the wrong way…I don’t like this ESPECIALLY since Lauren clearly is an amazing author without it

Eager to see how this trilogy concludes, angst and all lol

Normally my head is in fiction books and fairytales so this is way out of my sphere of normal reading. Usually I'm trying to escape this world full of such corruption as this. I only wanted to read it b/c I saw her interview on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart. It's about a 100 pages so not too bad

Hmm…the world building isn’t the clearest. Kinda confused a little by it tbh but I think I sort of get what the author is trying to convey?? Anyway I don’t think there’s an explanation for the world and it is just what it is. However I’ve been hooked from the first chapter which is a good sign AND it had a map in front (also good sign!). Books with maps tend to be good imo.

This book is so gorgeous. The borders of the pages are a deep blue and inside the opening pages have a sunset star filled sky in color with outlines of shadows of dragons!!! 😍
Delicious. I have a feeling this book won’t disappoint!

I hate this confusing and stupid time travel logic. I’ve rarely liked it. I think it’s because I hate feeling confused and it rarely ever makes sense. This better end well

The cover is MAGNIFIQUE. It’s gorgeous and MAGIKAL. Totally judging this book by its cover bc the internet doesn’t do it justice. You have to see it in person.

Also I just finished the first chapter and besides the action of revolution, the rest was SO COZY!! Cottage core completely. 🥹 and it’s about a magical being librarian with a sentient plant rescuing books. Like C’MONNN. This sounds amazing
