Chapter 21 was 38 pages long, and all of them were worthy and peak! I'm so into the relationships being forged as well as the political intrigue being build up

I'm reading it and loving it, and then I went to check the reviews.... people hate this book?? Mainly because there's no romance, many pages, long chapters; boring is also an adjective used.

I'm astonished. Not saying those people opinions ain't valid, but... the writing + story are so gripping, I can't really understand. And I'm usually very critical of EVERY book, including my fav ones! Weird...!

Kel is kissing everyone left and right (prostitute, twink, FMC), but not the person I want him to. I like how Kel describes kissing Lin as "surprisingly pleasant, but knew enough about himself to realize he was seeking something he had not found yet." Lin also didn't care AT ALL.

(It was a convenient kiss, which I rolled my eyes at, until their indifferent reaction after the kiss was described, no big deal, move on)

Five star potential. Although this has a romantasy tag, no romance in sight, which I'm more than pleased. The characters can grow and be fleshed out without the romance (that will certainly happen eventually, I'm guessing) weighting them down as their own people.

609 pages and only 25 chapters.... Cassandra Clare, I'll find you.

In all honesty, I'm really loving it so far, and you don't even feel the length of the chapters at all !

This is fun!
I've reached that moment of the holidays when everything is more interesting than reading (I mean, seeing BTS concert hello???), so I've started a million books but haven't continued on with any.

This book got me hooked in, finally! It's a mulan hidden identity type of book (which I love) and is being well done! I like these characters too :)

The "barrio" kills me. 😭 holy cringe. Just say neighborhood, suburb, town or whatever.

NetGalley pick. Graphic novel. I feel like I always have a problem with graphic novels’ art styles. It always feels more amateurish for some reason (especially when we compare to mangas). Obviously not a fair comparison, for a number of reasons, but is inevitable for me to make since it’s what I usually read in this format.

Anyway…. Let’s see how it goes. I’m trying to read more graphic novels

Finished Volume #11: 3☆
It's not bad, but it's hard to be interested in it. I'm not sure if it's because I made such a long pause between this and the last Volume... but all the Light and Near back and forth is annoying! It also feels so repetitive, and it's almost like they are overcomplicating the explanations for us! Just be concise and straight with it.

Anyway... I'm still curious for the final installment.

I have my suspicions... please, Freida, be original and don't do the twist of the "hot good guy is actually bad" once again

After more than two years, (I read Volume V in April, 2024), it's time to tackle the last of Death Note...

I hope the last volume is as good as the first part of the series and won't be disappointing like the last two Volumes...

There are 5☆ scenes happening, but my experience is being less enjoyable than the part 1.

I'm not sure if it's because I'm working + studying for exams at the same time nowadays (therefore I'm more tired and with less willing to read)...

...or if it's because I'm in this world for a while now (and I usually take breaks between books in the same series)

Both have interesting things going on. But please, I couldn't care less when Bran is having a wolf dream. It's always confusing and a bit boring. The rest of the POV storyline was good though
