It’s so funny to me now how the kids think everything is cringe and I’m just like, this is normal and totally reasonable! haha

The thing I love about these books is that they are written with such loving descriptions of the world/landscape/culture of the characters. You can feel the appreciation for things and places that others would disregard and that makes it so beautiful!

“Goddammit Dawes, do I have to do all of this myself?” “If This is unethical, then yes.”

“But if Magic is real, I want to make a good impression.” . . . ‘Do we all hunger for this? Why raise children on the promise of magic, why create a want in them that can never be satisfied for revelation, for transformation, and then set them adrift in a bleak pragmatic world?’

Man, I love this book. So many good scenes and a good balance of dark and light.

I know Alex is about to do a stupid thing and I can’t HANDLE IT.

This book will break your heart in the best way.
