This is very cute and very much like the tv show. Like, they did an extraordinary job with the show. I feel like I’m watching the whole thing over again in my head.

Oh my gosh the writing in this is legions better than Daughter of the Moon Goddess.

She is insufferable in a way I don’t think is by design.

Tedious. I feel like I’ve read this plot a hundred times and this is not a particularly novel iteration.

I hate her voice.

This book feels basic. Not in a good way.

You cannot say both, “It wasn’t that bad for them” and “They are trying to put us where they were!” at the same time without inducing a certain amount of irony.

New proposal for anyone who says “Slavery wasn’t that bad” - They sign themselves up for a year of hardcore reenactment but they take the part of the slave.

Oh gosh I am going to love this book aren’t I?

Better, but still just, low key annoying. Oh woe is me. I don’t belong anywhere. Even this place that everyone keeps insisting I very welcome at and which I love and want to be a part of. Alas, I’m too brooding and misunderstood.

It is getting better, more character interactions and less exposition.

Why are you literally recapping me on what happened in the last chapter. I was there. I read it. You might have done a 15 year time skip in the book but the reader didn’t. You don’t need to tell me how Sarah lost her magic again.

To many things going wrong at the start. Dislike. It will probably get better.

I appreciate the staggered timeline because there are things I worry about that I don’t have to worry about because I know something will be okay. Targeted anxiety I guess.
