I wasn’t in love with the start of Manacled either so I’m soldiering on till Part 2 at least. There’s a lot of info dumping and this perspective just isn’t my preferred way to be introduced to a world.

Started as an audiobook but switching to ebook because I cannot bear to listen to this for another ~3 hours. So far it is working, enjoying the writing much more.

What a realistic process

I did not know that I loved/needed chickens as comedic relief as much as I do. But I should have guessed based on my love of Moana.

Why aren’t there chickens in more stories?

Upping the tension merely by having them have lengthy conversations in a compromised location.

Having never read nor seen Gone With the Wind, much of this segment is lost on me.

I sort of love it when they fight, get so pigheaded and irate, and then backtrack and calm down.
