Something about this that I can't put my finger on is just giving me an icky feeling and I've had enough.

I’m just not into these characters enough to wait out the childish bickering.

Just not in the right mood for this.

I don’t know if the author specializes in MMCs that I hate or I just picked the wrong two of her books, but I give up.

This is "romance" and "humor"? Not "horror" or "psychological thriller"? Really?

Maybe Marcel redeems himself later in the book, but I’ve had enough of him being an ass to not be interested.

Darcy and Elle are cute and their interactions look like they'll be fun, but every single scene with the brother brings me back to what Elle's friend said: "What you need to do is tell [your family] if they don't like how you're living your life, they can go fuck themselves because it's not their life to live." If there's much more of Brendon's fuckery, I may end up DNFing this.

I keep avoiding reading it, so it's time to put it down for a bit.

I should’ve DNF’d this when I was first feeling like it just wasn’t working for me. I do not like these characters (maybe something to do with the audiobook narration). Now, I could maybe finish the book in 90 minutes of focused reading, but a skim of the 1- and 2-star reviews has me feeling like I’d rather spend that 90 movies on something else.

I'm just not seeing how years of this bad marriage are going to be reasonably fixed by one trip the couple is manipulated into by their whiny kids. Maybe it gets better? I'm not going to find out.

Bored and annoyed with the characters and class warfare.

The boundary-crossing territory-marking alpha male bullshit was already pissing me off, but I kept going, hoping it'd turn a corner... and him kidnapping her was not the corner I wanted it to turn.

Maybe just my mood at the moment, but I probably should have DNF’d in chapter 1 with the surprise “get married tonight so he doesn’t get deported tomorrow.” But I gave it a bit longer and… well, maybe, maybe I’ll come back to it.

Maybe it’s just the mood I’m in, but “if you want to continue to be my sports agent, you’ll cook dinner for me and my date on zero notice” feels like a hard NO to me.

I went from curious to bored to giving up in… only 24 minutes? Seemed like longer.
