Did you know bloodletting is still done in today’s world? Today it’s called therapeutic phlebotomy. Mostly it’s done when people have a build-up of iron in their system. I believe the medical terminology is hereditary hemochromatosis. But I’m too lazy to look it up right now, and medical terminology was many many years ago. Anybody was to concur or set me straight? I’d appreciate it!

Fascinating book written with both power and empathy. Davis Bunn's books never cease to amaze me!

I really like the the fact Riley's cousin Sophie doesn't beat around the bush, but says the truth and and steps forward to make Riley get out of his depression. It really shows that she cares enough to be supportive and initiate acts that push Riley in the right direction.

I am really enjoying this book so far. I have re-read the Biblical story and so far have not come across anything that goes against the Biblical account. The fiction fills in a lot of details that are unknown to us (thus the reason it's fiction!), and the story has come alive in a page-turning-can't-put-the-book-down way!

Hard to put down!!!

I just finished The Daily Devotional Series: The Gospel of John and gave it 1 star. It doesn't even deserve one star. The author may have good intentions, but she falls short on truly understanding the real truths found in the book of John. If her other devotional books are like this, I would most definitely stay clear of them. My review on Amazon and Goodreads explains my reasoning.

I've been reading this book as if I could never be in the same position as Debra, but it just hit me that I am probably older than her. My children are 12, 10, and 3. My dad is finest 75, but Mom is on Hospice, also. Now I recognize that I could be in the same situation as Debra. This changes my perspective and makes the book very personal. The only difference is I love God
