FINALLY. That took the MC way too long to cut ties with that joy-draining, page-ruining fuckwit of a character. So long, in fact, that now the author has a hell of a task ahead of her to now redeem the MC in my eyes, because being a piss poor judge of character ain’t a great MC make.

I’m so close to rage-throwing my kindle into a swamp right now, I can’t even.

Whichever Goodreads librarian(s) keep fucking with the titles of these books, could you not?! Thanks. Because it’s really shitting me that the number of each book is missing from the actual titles (only showing in the series title) AND now they all say “An MM Slow-Burn Romantasy”…which, newsflash, having extended trope tags IN A TITLE is cringe AF. We can all read the synopsis for those details. M’kay?

The premise is so off-putting to me (I dislike bully romances, deception and lies, pranks and humiliation, blah blah blah), but so many people seemed to love this despite all of that, so I’ll (try and) keep an open mind. Let’s go…

Saeris was hugely unlikeable to me from page one and it’s only gotten worse as the story meanders along.

All the guys are all right, I guess. Kingfisher sounds HOT in the audiobook, I’ll give him that, but it’s a shame his name drives me to distraction.

Carrion might make this whole experience worth it though…maybe…

Delighted to say I’m enjoying this even more than Black Cake! It’s a sophomore success!

This future step sibling conflict is so ridiculous to me. The constant “we can’t/they can’t!” drama of it all is making me feel like I’m wired wrong!! In my opinion, there is NOTHING forbidden about their relationship and the fact every character in the book is harping on about it is hurting my morally grey brain!

Those final 50 pages took a year off my life, I swear. My poor frayed nerves. Oomph. 😫

I’m laughing so hard at Violet being shocked that Rhi isn’t angry she kept secrets! THAT’S how Violet should have responded to Xaden actions all along, without all this self-indulgent bitching and moaning!!! Rhi is one classy AF lady! 🙌

I love how she’s still hung up on what Xaden is keeping from her, yet she’s doing the exact same thing to all her friends now, for their safety… the hypocrisy of this bitch is REAL.

I can’t get past the idea that all these cadets are voluntarily at BWC. Like, how dire does life have to be to think rolling the dice on their lives is worth the very minuscule chance at survival here. Fuck me.

Chapter 39 can go fuck itself. WTF was that?! Way to decimate what was already an increasingly inconsistent and messy heroine. Choices like this blow my fucking mind.

Because this year’s PopSugar Challenge has a stupid “read a book about a run club” topic. But also because my romance reading dad called it “pretty good, I guess”… which, if you know anything about my dad, is super high praise.

Lucy just Flora Bora Slammed in a way that would make Sam of Wilds so ridiculously proud!!! That Easter egg landed strong.
