savin manga here was a mistake. Hero&Sage for instance. Been loving isekai with a female mc with powers other than being pretty at court? count me in even though she has a husband. But it's a couple story not her story. The hunt remains. So far: Slime Taoshite 300-nen (I've Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level), and Rougo ni Sonaete Isekai (Saving 80,000 Gold in Another World for my Retirement).

I'm not a fan of the ending but I don't feel it's as out of left field as everything else.

wait I'm only changing from 3% and SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED. 98% of it stupid. We haven't had the most compelling or interesting protagonist but WTF happened? She's so STUPID. Just bouncing around with the most moronic conclusions. The real conclusion isn't even that crazy but it's just insane the way her mind works.

The only thing that DOES make sense is the RealKiller™'s motive. That's interesting.

Okay it's been a very weird opening act but it took until chapter 6 before I understood what this book was going to be about. I just grabbed something from my kindle so I didn't have a synopsis. Turns out it's a murder mystery. Which is fine. Because a school drama book wouldn't make sense when everyone's a senior in the end of the school year.

Started yesterday. Honestly the prologue is insane. What I'm learning is the ENTIRE PREMISE of this book is going to be based in something that's not how college admissions work at all.

I don't think I'm far enough in to say I'm having a good time. But I'm far enough to say this has good humor. It is legitimately amusing. I have momentum now

Worst protagonist ever. Even her imaginary version of her girlfriend is a better character than she is.

I've heard of show. Don't tell. But if you have a character whose tongue has been cut off and replaced and the only sign in the text that this has happened is that they speak in short sentences. You failed at writing.

I was wondering this whole time if it meant something that his sentences seem to be fragmented but there was no inner monologue about a stuttering demeanor.

I don't like the main character. Josephina. And I think I know why. One of the main characteristics of the hero is their response to the call to action. The hero is the one who responds to the call to action. Even in stories where the hero doesn't respond. They respond to the call to action later. The second call. Eleven chapter in and I'm still not in love with this book. This seems to happen with early releases. Maybe because I'm going into this blind without a synopsis but I'm trying to think I didn't have that much context when I started Mistborn, the Final Empire or Once Bitten, Twice Shy. And I was able to get engaged long before the half way point.

This time skip doesn't feel useful b/c we know nothing still.

I hope kids don't talk like that. It's silly. But more importantly there are no more boomer radio stations. But this goes to a common theme I see where no one knows what a boomer is. Every adult is not a boomer. 80s-90s music isn't boomer music. The baby boom is real but it's not just every older person.

SO we're long done with the story which was satisfying and now we're into codas and flash forwards andhonestly I'm impressed there's this much material.
