A Stokoe book!

Got this in the mail out of the blue from an old friend. 🤞

Just referencing this book as I work my way through the 5th, 6th and 7th Doctors.

A grim and sweaty book to read during a heat wave.

When does this get good?

I can’t swear I’m going to read all four books in this collection straight through.

Halfway through and Brin (at his youngest) is a clunky, inelegant writer.

Pretty snappily written so far, and chugs right along.

Halfway through, and though I love Silverberg, like the World Inside, I don’t love this, and I fear I don’t get it.

This book is straight-up, full-tilt, real-time bonkers!

Always read a book with a Chris Foss cover.

I started this book a week ago and Vinge has died. Trying to think of who to read/kill next.

The Boris Vallejo cover on this book is bumming me out. He’s trying to rip off John Berkey but with airbrush instead of buttery oil paints. And the perspective is whack.

As I approach A Boy and His Dog I’m experiencing sincere trepidation.

Halfway through and Shiner really, um, glows.

Yeah, I’m reading this.

Halfway through, and this book’s a gonzo tiltawhirl of grimy SF.
I’m loving it.

One story in and Millhauser is breaking hearts again. Damn, he’s so good. I’m gonna dole these out lifeboat style and really milk this beauty.

Halfway through. Interesting if a bit dry.

Not the spectacle the first book is, but halfway through it’s still a grabber.

Halfway through this book it’s gone from awesome action kill-fest to some other characters chatting and having picnics back to maybe the original fun stuff 🤞
