I thought I'd go back to an old favourite to rekindle my love for reading... and oh, from the get go just reading it isn't enough, I want to inject it into my veins

is this the 3rd time i'm starting this? yes. do i think i would like it considering i keep abandoning it and forgetting everything about it? no. but i refuse to let a 200-page book defeat me

that plan to finish this book by the end of april isn't going well...

if there's one thing i'd accomplish this month, it would be finishing this book. but first i gotta start it over because i remember next to nothing from what i've read of it last year

you CANNOT convince me that the food in the castle appears out of some vampire magic. the count is sitting in the kitchen chopping veggies making all the meals from scratch. chef dracula.

standing in the middle of my kitchen staring at the ceiling with earphones in waiting for edward to say "your number was up the first time i met you" in the same way that i wait for the beat in my favourite song to drop

"i imagined it would feel the same to press ice to an aching burn. an abrupt cessation of pain." so, um. i've read through this plot maybe a dozen times in total and i never really paid attention to how intense that little moment actually is. now i'm obsessed with it.

yes i have already listened to the audiobook once. yes i have other books sitting on my currently reading shelf for months. yes i will completely ignore them for midnight sun any day.

i started the audiobook at the beginning of the year as a tool to (hopefully) help me cure my misandry to an extent. a few months down the line i'm exposed to all the It Ends With Us drama about him on the internet and it's... it's making it very hard for me to be cured lmao

the only thing this book is doing at this point is weighing on my conscience

this book is serotonin distilled... nothing else can lift my mood like it

me: i'm in a deep reading slump, nothing can salvage it!

also me: starts rereading Wallbanger for the bajillionth time, reads 100 pages in a day

never thought i'd be brave enough to tackle this book with all the reputation that precedes it, but i found myself alone in the center of a big city with a dead phone battery, and a bookstore nearby... oh well, it took me an hour to get through those first 20 pages, and at least i charged my phone in the meantime lol. i really hope it starts working for me as i get further into the story.

it took me 2.2 books to reach the giggling-kicking-feet-at-shipping-moments phase, better late than never

this is my third time this year being caught off guard by gore/body horror in the book i'm reading. i guess we're switching to children's books in 2024 to avoid more surprises lol

i started listening to the audiobook while running errands, and so far it's just okay - i wouldn't say i'm excited to pick it back up

we're back to Sally Rooney's communist bisexual Irish universe, baby

nevermind, i'm not actually reading this, just stuck in a loop getting through 2-3 pages at a time then getting stressed and putting the book away for 2-5 working days then repeat

up until now i thought i was able to deal with the gore in this book but the massacre in golyn niis might have been the last straw. i'm not sure i'll be able to digest the other 2 installments.

based on the reviews this series is gonna become a LOT more than the story it is right now but omg that initial academy sequence was giving divergent. "that stuck up dude doesn't like me so we threw hands and he kicked my ass" ok tris. "part of you guys will not make it through the first year" we get it tobias. i'm so glad that part o the story is over.

uhhhhh i think that's gonna be a DNF. it took me a full week to get through the first 20 pages and the writing style is REALLY not working for me, it's a shame bc it's hyped so much and i expected to like it too :(

don't mind me, i'm just out there regressing into my teen self. this novel is sooo much better than i imagined

i'm trying not to get my hopes up but ohhhh i'm hooked!

but of course it would get good literally during the last 20 pages

you know that point where you've been struggling with a book for so long that when you approach its end you get lowkey nostalgic... such a weird feeling knowing that if i was still at the 40% mark i would have been tearing my hair out in frustration :D
