"The Portuguese introduced cacao to Africa in the early 19th century.
Beginning with São Tomé, the crop spread quickly, first to the neighbouring island of Fernando Pó (now Bioko), then to mainland Gold Coast (now Ghana)."

Interesting.

Não tenho dúvidas que deva ter dado um bom trabalho instalar o telégrafo pelo interior do Brasil. Outra coisa foi a construção da ferrovia transatlântica. Basta ver os números envolvidos em ambas. Pura fantasia.

This group is the most difficult to classify because they looked like black, by acted partly like white.

"The alliance between Portugal and the Kongo had many strands to it, but the adoption of a Christian cult by the ruling elites of the Kongo remains an exceptional example of the creolization of an African rul-ing class taking place without prior conquest by a European power. The Kongolese aristocracy adopted Portuguese names, titles, coats of arms and styles of dress, and imported material goods from Portugal."
