Taking me a while to finish this because I keep going back to poems I already finished. I'm memorizing some lines. Making sure even the cuts are accounted for.

It's interesting to read about someone's understanding about grief and sorrow, if there really is such a difference between the two as Mark Doty insisted. The passages often refer to the unspeakable and incorrigible other, which is to say death, A lot of metaphors as I expected. And I will be expecting more. Death is so strange and various.

I've already watched the series on Netflix and I loved it. Given it didn't necessarily bring anything new to the table as far as I'm aware. Although, I do very much appreciate queer content that generates happiness and fluff. While grim narratives do enhance truths, I suppose I just feel weary of its structure and its inevitable somber collapse. Already loving the experience of going through this first volume.

Decided not to finish the collection.

I'm having such a blast. Already one of my favorites.

So far, I'm having a bit of trouble with the treatment of the motif in this collection, and I also have an issue about how it's sustained. I hope it opens up more as I go along.
