They are not grown until they know
how to communicate, apologize and accept
accountability without blaming someone else.

و الزمن قلّما يمنح فرصًا ثانية لمن يحترف تضييعها...

You don’t have to understand why something happened or what you should be doing now. All you need to do is be wholeheartedly loving and you will see all you need show up for you.

Maybe it was never about them deserving you or you deserving them. Maybe they treated you terribly not because they wanted to. Maybe they have a deep pain causing them to act certain ways. It’s not an excuse whatsoever.

To the poem I put
into a book
before it was ready
I’m sorry I didn’t wait
a few lines longer
 
To the flowers
I picked before
they were ready
When sunlight
still shone
like a prayer
on their petals
I’m sorry
 
To the man I will
love and love
until the word love
no longer means
anything to anyone
I’m sorry I wasn’t ready.

“I love the room because I love reading.”
And because when I find that book that makes me lose myself for just one hour, maybe more, I forget.
And because my dad thinks of Mom every time he buys me a book.
And because you’re here and I feel about a thousand times less lonely with you".
