Having just finished Chapter Twenty-Eight, I'm thoroughly enraptured by the story thus far. The plot moves along rather quickly, though slowing down understandably when portraying the sense of isolation and helplessness Harry (as well as the other Hogwarts students) feels with Umbridge taking control over the school. I'm also positively intrigued by the way they revealed the character of James Potter's younger self.

Anthony Quigley is 9% done with Philosophy Goes to the Movies
Having only read the Introduction, I find myself quite excited to start reading the rest of the book, as it makes very clear in the usual academic manner what to expect from the book as well as what makes philosophy a part of some films. Though the format is dry, as is typical in an Introduction, the content was rather straightforward in explaining the scope in which philosophy does and does not apply to film.

Anthony Quigley is 21% done with Down Girl: The Logic of Misogyny
Having finished the first chapter, I'm pleased to see the smooth progression of the book insofar as it explains the deeper nature of Misogyny and its expansive subtleties and variation. Manne lays out the foundation for how we examine and explain Misogyny, but does so in a way as if to advance a particular ideology. True to philosophic form, she takes a methodical approach in analyzing the phenomenon macroscopicallly

Anthony Quigley is on page 67 of 219 of Many Many Many Gods of Hinduism: Turning believers into non-believers and non-believers into believers
As the cultural side of Hinduism is being being wrapped up, at least explicitly, I find myself mildly fascinated by the various adaptions and mutations within Hinduism. There is much information to be written down in terms of specific events, but Hinduism seems to have changed in many drastic ways throughout history thus far.

Having only read the Preface and Introduction, I'm very intrigued by the way in which this analysis of Misogny and its subsequent manifestations is to be conducted. While academic, to be sure, I find a lot of trepidation at each step in a way that is,in my opinion, a little too heavy-handed. Given the nature of the topic, it's understandable, but I do hope the analysis is more flowing and less stuttering with caution

So far, the foundations for film analysis have been relatively soundly established. Though the language is a bit vague, I understand what the author is getting at. I do very much appreciate the compartmentalization of the various kinds of thematic elements, though, especially when paired with actual movie examples.

Anthony Quigley is on page 38 of 191 of Mastering Logical Fallacies: The Definitive Guide to Flawless Rhetoric and Bulletproof Logic
The forward and introduction make a short and simple, yet effective case for the necessity of understanding Logic and how to argue. Key terms were first laid out followed by a short explanation of the two different types of fallacies to watch out for. The book lists the fallacies in alphabetical order, but the format it lists them in is highly effective with real examples and recommended responses. Good stuff so far.

Though we haven't covered the religion insofar as its metaphysics are concerned, there is much information thus far on the culture of Hinduism. There are many differences laid out between the various cultures within Hinduism, whether it be differences in language, proselytizing attitudes, migration, or various celebrations.

Having just finished the chapter on Nietzsche as an alternative to Aristotelean Virtue Ethics, I find myself disappointed that MacIntyre so grossly misrepresented Nietzsche's philosophy. Understandable as the mistake is, I find it lessens his credibility in making his argument for Virtue Ethics. I remain unconvinced of Virtue Ethics, due to his lack (so far) in giving a sound footing for a Teleological framework.

I do love Nietzsche's style, though it does take some parsing.

So far, I'm finding myself with an empathic headache of my own as Harry, Ron, and Hermione struggle to cope with the loads of homework they are given in preparation for their O.W.L.S (I doubt Hermione is struggling as much as the others). I viciously hate Umbridge for her inhumane punishment of Harry, but am sympathetic to Harry's attitude in not telling the adults. I definitely feel Harry's sense of isolation.
