so far it reads like a super long book report or analysis on nabokov’s books, i hope it gets a little less like this

so far i find this to be super annoying and really white feministy but i have heard it gets better so i guess i’ll try to stick it out

This is the exact sort of book I would’ve made my entire personality when I was 15.

I’m really trying to like this, but the narrator’s jaded millennial way of interacting with the world is ruining it for me

I don’t really understand why they have set off to do this huge trek across Europe with literally zero planning? And why wasn’t there any prep or information at the beginning of the book??

I would say I’ve done the morning pages ~70% of the time. I appreciate the nurturing of the inner child and letting the small artist inside oneself speak. I think there is less of a focus on God than I was expecting based on what I’d heard going into this. I have started to think about my inner artist more and I think simply by virtue of thinking about art more, I am doing it more. It’s been worthwhile so far.

This is reading the way Gone Girl is narrated. It feels like I’m inside the mind of an exceedingly smart, witty woman in her 40s. Not sure if I’m liking it or if I’m finding it annoying and pretentious.
