Finally finished Book II, woof, that was some rough going there for a while. My sources say that is a notoriously hard section to get through, and the narrative picks up from here on out.

My God, our man Raskolnikov is NOT holding it together. At all haha jeez man get a grip!

End of Part I. Alyona Ivanovna dead. Lizaveta Ivanovna dead.

Not sure if it was worth my time to read the forward here. But oh well, I did it at any rate. First chapter was good.

Just finished part I. Lots of references to In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, which I used to really admire, but then after reading Furious Hours by Casey Cep I lost some of my admiration for. I get it though, I can see the comparison. It’s a good book so far, it’s just such a senseless tragedy.
